The different people on this island, represent the different camps within the realm of wealthy ideologies. There are globalists and nationalists. They debate and argue their various takes on the social order. However, they are all one, when it comes down to their place in the world. Regardless of there are different ideas about how things should be done, their actions all benefit each other.
They all include the foundational belief of the superior breeding and intellect of rich people. They believe that global warming is real, and they must do something about it. That something is killing off all of the poor people, and replacing them with robots. For them, this will end pollution. The pollution contributing to global warming is well documented. It is disproportionately created by the wealthy people.
The globalists believe that the earth must be manage globally to create a stable living environment. The nationalists believe that globalism, is not self interested enough, and that we should all be competing at the national level. They believe that wars are good, and that humans need perpetual war to let the strongest rise to the top.
They are united on the extermination of all 'inferior' humans.
The irony is, they are not competing with each other. They are all cooperating. This island is the perfect example of cooperation among the rich. They expect poor people to compete against each other, while they are all united in their disdain, and blaming the poor for their problems. They all know each other. They all take care of each other.
I keep trying to understand the common thread. What makes these people so evil? Narcissism, certainly, but it reaches beyond that. There is a willful delusion which they all share. A disconnect which they cannot see. They will do whatever they can, twist reality however they can, so that they do not see the reality. They invent self interest and original sin to justify their abuse. They blame their victims. All of it, because they cannot accept that all life is equal.

Later that day, I asked him, “How many people will be left after the collapse?” I was doing everything I could to keep it together at this point. I felt sick, distraught and a sadness that felt like it would crush me with the weight of it.
“We have determined after many years of scientific research and planning that the earth can only support one hundred and fifty thousand immortals at the standard of living, which we require. At least initially, after the earth heals from it’s devastation, we can start having children again. Within controlled limits, of course. Now that we are immortal, we cannot go on having children without consequences.
“If there will be one hundred and fifty thousand immortals how many mortal humans will be left?”, I asked, while trying to keep my voice from cracking.
He replied, “just a handful. We’re not sure what number will be ideal yet, if I had to guess, I would say twenty thousand maybe less. The plan is to reduce the population to two hundred thousand then see what we have left. We’ll phase out the remaining population over time. We will select the best from the surviving population that remains. Of course, many of the survivors will have to be eliminated due to undesirable traits.”
