Some might say that this trend has gone on so long, it is natural, or tradition. However every great epic story, religion, mythology ends with people becoming free of tyranny. It is a human goal going back millennia.
We are on the verge of technologies that have the potential to eliminate all the limited freedoms we currently have. Many of these same technologies can also be used to free us and make our systems more collaborative then ever before. They have the potential of eliminating oppression from our social systems and to allow us to make decisions together without representatives to corrupt.
