Utopia is a form of story that encompasses the hopes and dreams of a society through an author's eyes.

utopias generally fall into categories based on their underlying ideological foundation. ex Socialist utopia.

utopias are largly socialist while dystopias are capitalist or authoritarian.

Matriarchy is the practice of matriarchal cultures. It is in almost every conceivable way the opposite of patriarchal forms of cultural organization. Instead of dictatorial rule by authoritarian social structures, it is egalitarian based on consensus decision making. Where patriarchy relies on a market economy, matriarchal societies practice gift economy. where patriarchal cultures define human nature as self interest and competition, matriarchal cultures are community focused around cooperation and sharing.

Cyberpunk culture is itself a cultural hack. It is distributed through consumer culture in pieces. when assembled into a whole it is explicitly counter culture and anti consumer. It strives to be a bridge between the destructive cultures of business and consumerism to a new culture that exists outside of that conglomeration of cultures which create the patriarchal monoculture.

The Concept of cyberpunk as a culture was proposed by Timothy Leary in Chaos and Cyberculture. Consciously deciding one's own culture is the basis of cyberpunk.
