Until recently, humans have always lived in groups, usually called villages. Traditionally a group of families that share responsibilities and resources.

Today families in the industrialized world do not share the same cohesive structure that held villages together over many generations. exposure to information has let loose and explosion of differing ideologies and lifestyles. Human societies have not yet adapted to this shift in allegiances.

We may no longer share the same way of life as our parents. because of this, the traditional family structure breaks down.
More important to one's sanity than the bonds of family are the bonds of ideology. We long to be around others who believe the world is how we believe it is.

we compromise our beliefs to get along with those around us. diluting or ignoring what we want to believe in order to function in the world around us. Some people are better at this than others and they succeed.

Some of the difficulties are a part of modern civilization. we are exposed to many different cultures, subcultures, ideologies, religions, ... each member of a family may have a different lifestyle and a different belief system.

The ideologies of individualism and selfishness have come to permeate society. Everyone has been affected by them. Distributed by the media and spread by word of mouth these ideas have corrupted traditional ways of life. Families are torn apart from the stress.

Social structures need to be constructed to adapt to the changes. (the long evolution from language to print, to press, to information technology, to?)

People can come together around common ideologies, lifestyles, and shared practices to form new types of families. Villages of like minded people sharing resources.

A village can be set up anywhere that people can live in close proximity and share time, resources, skills and information.

A village could move to a floor of a building, a group of houses in a neighborhood, or an apartment building.

Once established a village can grow and divide, set up villages in other places. Buy the buildings or new land and build planned villages that maximize resources and promote sustainability.
